“Karatu Coffee Factory, established in 1965, serves the Gitwe Farmer Cooperative Society in Gatundu Division. After cherry is harvested, it is depulped, fermented for 24 hours, and washed once more in a 72-hour total process. Parchment is dried on raised beds for up to 15 days depending on climate.”
