“This washed lot from Burundi's Kamira community is one of the most expressive yet balanced offerings from the region. Sourced through Red Fox Coffee Merchants, the coffee comes from the Nkanda washing station in the Ngozi province, where various smallholder producers deliver their cherries. The coffee undergoes a meticulous double-fermentation process: 12 hours of wet fermentation followed by another 12 hours in cement tanks, then dried for 20-25 days on traditional African raised beds. Despite Burundi's challenges as one of the world's poorest nations, producers in the Kamira community are building resilient, quality-focused operations with support from committed buyers.”
