“Bare is a coffee-producing site in the Bona Zuria district of Sidama, Ethiopia, owned and managed by the Tulu family and only a short drive from Demeka Becha, where Blanchard's sourcing partners have worked since 2019. It is Blanchard's first season buying from the site. Ripe cherries are sorted by hand and density, pulped, then left with a generous layer of mucilage clinging to the parchment through a short fermentation before moving to shaded drying beds - a black honey process that demands close attention during drying.”
