“Black & White's year-round decaf is an Ethiopian coffee from Guji, roasted medium-dark and decaffeinated with ethyl acetate derived from sugarcane. The roaster's own copy describes the sugarcane approach as a natural process that preserves the coffee's flavour while staying transparent about how it is made, and points to vertically integrated decaffeination inside the producing country: coffee is grown, processed, dried and decaffeinated without moving in and out of multiple countries, which cuts transport and taxation costs and gets the coffee to the roaster fresher. The cup is caramel, milk chocolate and balanced, at 2,000 masl. Sold in 12 oz, 2 lb and 5 lb bags.”
