“Bedhatu Jibicho took over her family's 84-acre farm in 1991 after her husband's death and joined the YCFCU, and was recognised as a model farmer in 2013. She later began preparing and selling her own coffee independently of the co-op and launched an export business with her sons. Bedhatu passed away this year at 104; this lot is the last harvest under her stewardship, with the farm and operation passing to her sons. Cherries are floated, then dried on raised beds, turned and sorted by hand daily for around 20 days.”
