Highlights
“The Gutity Natural lot is produced at the Gutity Washing Station in Yirgacheffe, where approximately 600 farmers deliver cherry from small farms sitting at 2,200 metres above sea level. This lot consists of the Kurume variety. On arrival, cherries are placed in water to sort out floaters, then laid on raised beds of wooden posts covered in burlap and sun-dried for 14-20 days, moved regularly for even drying. SNAP Specialty Coffee manages the station and trains more than 6,000 farmers in nursery management, production and processing, and supplies free or low-cost inputs such as fertiliser and sprays.”
