“Kapeu comes from smallholders in San Juan Alotenango, in the southern part of Guatemala's Antigua region, on the slopes of the Fuego, Acatenango and Agua volcanoes. Around 700 producers deliver cherry each harvest to the Bella Vista mill, run by Luis Pedro Zelaya Zamora, through a mix of direct relationships and local intermediaries. The coffee is Bourbon, fully washed at 1,800 metres, and Axil roasts it as espresso: mandarin, raisin, toffee and red apple.”
