“Bekele Kachara is one of the oldest producers in the Bensa area of Sidama and a pioneer of specialty coffee there. He inherited a farm in Hache village and has since expanded to Murago, where this lot comes from: only fully ripe cherries, picked in steep mountain terrain at 2,450 m, then dried for 20 to 25 days - longer than most origins, which adds a distinctive sweetness. The variety is JARC 74158, named by Ethiopia's Jimma Agricultural Research Centre in 1974 and a regular high scorer at Cup of Excellence auctions.”
