Highlights
“Kiringa Coffee Factory is a washing station in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, owned by the Kabare Farmers Cooperative Society, which was founded in 1998 and currently works with around 850 smallholder producers. The factory takes its name from the Kiringa river, which rises in the forest of Mount Kenya and supplies the water used in processing. The coffee is processed using the Kenyan double-fermentation washed method, which gives the cup its deep blackcurrant and brown sugar sweetness alongside black cherry fruit acidity and a silky body.”
