Highlights
“The Kibingo station serves a large network of local farmers, acting as a hub for collection, sorting, and processing. This area is well known for its dense concentration of smallholder farmers and high-quality coffee production. In Burundi, most producers cultivate coffee on very small plots, often just a few hundred trees, delivering their harvest to centralised washing stations like Kibingo where processing is carefully managed. The Oro designation often refers to a higher selection grade within the lot, indicating careful cherry selection and separation during intake.”
