Tips & Preparation
Reason to try:
- Jonathan Gagné is the creator of Pulsar Brewer, and authors of the book “The Physics of Filter Coffee”
Notes:

Grind coarser than V60 (around 800 microns).

Swirl gently after the bloom.

Bloom with 3x the coffee weight in water, let it drip a bit, then close the valve.

Pour in small pulses to maintain a 1cm slurry above the coffee bed.

Aim for a total brew time between 3:30 and 4:30. Or finer grinds for 5:00-6:00
Preparation:

Add coffee, level the bed, and put the dispersion cap on.

Place a dry paper filter, open the valve to drain, then close it.

Pour bloom water (3x coffee weight), let it drip a bit, then close the valve.
Swirl gently.

Open the valve and start pouring water in small pulses, maintaining a 1cm slurry above the coffee bed until 1:17 ratio.

Total brew time between 3:30 and 4:30.
