The Ultimate Clever Dripper Technique
"Easy clever dripper technique with water first, then coffee for even extraction and quick drawdown."
James Hoffmann
Tips & Preparation
- Steep and release brewer.
- Typically 75 grams a liter, but 60-65 grams a liter is also good.
- Use militar style paper filters, size number four.
- Can brew up to 400ml.
- Grind size: medium fine, finer than most people would expect for a steep star brewer.
- Water first, then coffee for quicker drawdown time.
- No appreciable benefit to using the lid.
- If it was still a little bit hollow grind finer, if you hit that wall of bitterness and harshness then back it off a little bit.
- Don't push the paper down as far as it can go
