Large Dose Mellow Drip Column Brew
"Brewing large doses with Mellow Drip Column, highlighting clarity, acidity, and high extraction using coarse grounds and a three-pour method."
Brian Quan
Tips & Preparation
Notes:
- Agitation can increase acidity. Adjust grind size and pour speed to taste. Can use lower temperatures due to fast extraction. Mixing the final brew is important for even flavor.
Preparation:
- Brewer: Mellow Drip Column, a zero bypass brewer with a cone for acidity.
- Dose: 30g (can range from 30-45g).
- Grind: Coarse (feels like a 7 or 8 on ZP6).
- Water Temperature: 95°C (can be adjusted based on coffee and preference).
- Structure: Three pours.
- First Pour: 100g (bloom).
- Second Pour: Up to 250g using Mellow Drip for low agitation.
- Third Pour: Up to 480g, maintaining water level.
